This is my Marceline project. It took me awhile to finish. I wanted to use red and white/black as my colors because that is what I think of when I think of Mickey Mouse- which is what I think of when I think of Walt Disney. I used several layers and columns for this assignment. I chose the Clear Water Fishing magazine as my best example of In Design because I liked it better with the photos and fish I used. I think I worked more with layout design with this one placing all the text in different areas and deciding where it would all go. So, I like this too. I have my hard copy of copy fitting that I left at home this morning by accident, so I couldn't post it as Final-3. I did complete it and feel like it helped with the placement when I went to do it in In Design. It was pretty accurate and I think it's neat that there's a formula we can use that involves any different type of font...as long as you have all the tools to complete the formula.

Final-9

Example of Photoshop proficiency-I have included two examples of photoshop.

The two fishing pictures is an example of using a clipping path to use the fish only in the InDesign document. The second example is an example where I touched up a photo using the stamp, burn and dodge tool. I don't have the original to place next to it to compare but there was a lot of damage with spots, scrapes and discoloration over the years. Both are time consuming but very neat when finished.

Final-8

Example that demonstrates proficiency in Illustrator- This is my example of Illustrator. I used several layers, transparencies and the the pen tool. I tried to create the texture of by a transparency effect over the entire piece. I re-created the flowers and berries using the pen tool and used the layers to overlap them accordingly. I got the colors from the example given to us.

Final-7

Proficiency in InDesign- This is my Clear Water Fishing Missouri 2-page magazine spread. I used several layers in this process and used photos. The fish were brought in from photoshop. I used columns and wrapped the text around the edge of the fish to the left. I used a transparent box for the backdrop of the fish, to help view the text in front of the photo. I used color for the title and box from the background photo. I really enjoyed this assignment and like the subject matter a lot better the the dancing assignment the boys got:)

Final-6

Best creative concept- I think this is my best creative concept. I thought the idea of having the fill of the car be a forest scape was creative and different than the typical car ad you see most of the time. This idea was to promote the connection of this car with the earth and environment.

Final-5

Example of best typography/typesetting- This is my best example of typesetting. I used a cursive font to contrast with a Lithos Pro font for the "Writing Center" and details of where it is and when it is open. I used guidelines to keep everything level and in proportion.

Final-4

Example of best design- I did not get the entire image to download but this is my best design elements. I used a frame layout by using the image of the chef as a frame. I have text in the chef's hat and more text in the chef's uniform. Using the image as a frame keeps the image as the central focus with the details included. The type in the hat is the name of the event along with the date and place. You can read that from a distance and the smaller type in the uniform has more details included by the organization.

Final-2

One example of best marker comp- This is my best marker comp. The design included the Prius to be filled with a forest scene and to be driving with a city backdrop. The design is symmetrical and easy to read. It creates a sort of triangle format. It is simple and gets the point across to the audience.

Final-1

Example of best set of color thumbnail comps-
These comps were fun to do. I tried to incorporate two main concepts with the ad- eco-friendly and eco-nomic. I tried a variety of things trying to incorporate nature and earth with the city life or the reality or necessity of driving to our lives today. I used green and blues, which we find in the nature that surrounds us.
